  4. Please unarchive the contents of this zipfile into a diskette labeled
  5.  
  6.     Sound Blaster Pro drivers for Windows v3.0 + MMExt
  7.             and Windows v3.1

  12. This disk contains the latest drivers for Windows v3.1 as well as
  13. Windows v3.0 + Multimedia Extensions. The drivers (*.DRV) are dated
  14. Feb 17th 92, SBPMIXER.CPL and SBPMIXER.EXE is the software mixer for
  15. Sound Blaster Pro. MMCBOX.EXE and MMJBOX.EXE are the latest programs
  16. that will work under Windows 3.1 and Windows 3.0 + MMExt.

  18. For users of Creative Labs Inc MMUK (Windows v3.0 + MMExt), please run 
  19. the update program (UPDATE.EXE) from Windows after installing Windows 
  20. with MMExt. The update program will update all the necessary drivers 
  21. and programs automatically.

  23. For users of Sound Blaster Pro and Windows v3.0 + MMExt but without
  24. SBPro drivers, please use the OEMSETUP.INF method. This is similar to the
  25. description below about Drivers Applet under Control Panel.

  27. For users of Windows v3.1, please use the DRIVERS applet of Control Panel
  28. to install the SoundBlaster Pro drivers. Follow the instructions that is
  29. included with Windows v3.1. If you have Sound Blaster Pro drivers in your 
  30. WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory you need to delete them first before you proceed
  31. with above (Only if you have build 61 or build 68).

  33. The drivers are smart enough to detect the version of Windows being used.
  34.  
  35. The drivers will reference the [SoundBlaster] section in Windows 3.0 + MMExt
  36. and [sndblst.drv] section under Windows 3.1.

  38. Under Windows 3.1 SBPFM.DRV will use channel 10 as the Drum Channel but under
  39. Windows 3.0 + MMExt channel 16 will be the Drum Channel.

  41. You will need to create a new MIDI-MAP to make use of SBPFM.DRV, please use the
  42. MIDI MAPPER applet under Control Panel.
